seriously and without nonsense ...
Adaptogens are natural and synthetic substances that improve the ability to overcome the burden and have no side effects. Practically speaking, they are mainly medicinal plants and fungi that meet the definition of adaptogen . Historically, the concept of adaptogen was developed in the 1950s to describe the effect of ginseng medicinal plants. Ginseng was chosen because of its multifaceted action without side effects, which is called the panacea. However, naming ginseng by a panache is not technically correct. It is right to call it an adaptogen. Even the other plants, which are incorrectly called ginseng (eleuterokok = Siberian ginseng , vitania = Indian ginseng , Peruvian cress = Peruvian ginseng , desert denim = desert ginseng etc.), should be called adaptogen.
Adaptogens therefore facilitate the adaptation process - load adaptation such as cold and heat load, chemical load on the liver and other organs, oxidation and radiation burden that accelerates aging, biological stress (allergens, viral and microbial infections, poor diet, ), physical stress (injuries, wear and tear of the muscles, joints, heart, etc. in exercise and sport, in patients and in normal situations) and psychological stress - stress in the narrow sense of the word. The ideal adaptogen acts against all kinds of stress. Real adaptogens are approaching this ideal. Some more protect the liver, others protect blood vessels, others suppress inflammation and allergies, fight mental stress, etc. Adaptogens are also applied to civilization diseases that are related to stress factors. Today, for example, epidemic diabetes (diabetes) has chemical connections (sugars, LDL lipids and oxidants) and physical (obesity, damage to blood vessels and tissues), and it also aggravates mental stress.
Furthermore, the concept of adaptogen is in contrast to the concept of current common drugs , which are predominantly poisons, used in small doses to kill microbes and suppress specific disease symptoms ( Paracelsus medicines ). The use of toxic substances for treatment, of course, requires extensive testing and accurate dosing, which plays in cards to large corporations that develop commercial drugs. Adaptogens generally strengthen health and are not poisonous in high doses (see adaptogens and common medication comparisons ).
The most important adaptogens:
- Panax ginseng - the most effective adaptogen
- Eleutherococcus senticosus
- Pink Stonecrop ( Rhodiola rosea )
- Schisandra chinensis ( Schisandra chinensis )
- ginseng notoginseng ( Panax notoginseng )
- Baikal Shrike ( Scutellaria baicalensis )
- Vitae ( Withania somnifera )
- Ganoderma lucidum , also known as reishi , lingzhi - the most effective fungal adaptogen
- ( Inonotus obliquus ), also known as the lizard
